Wasikowska, Eisenberg to star in 'Double'

LONDON -- Mia Wasikowska has joined Jesse Eisenberg to star in Richard Ayoade's second feature "The Double." Pic, which is inspired by Fyodor Dostoyevsky's book of the same name, is co-penned by Ayoade and Avi Korine, and follows the story of an insignificant man driven to near breakdown by the appearance of his doppelganger. Protagonist Pictures is selling the pic internationally and will be launching sales on the project at the Berlin Film Festival next week. Amina Dasmal and Robin Fox of Alcove Entertainment produce while Andy Stebbing will co-produce. The project was co-developed and will be co-financed by Film4. Ayoade made his directorial debut last year with the Brit pic "Submarine," an adaptation of Joe Dunthorne's Welsh coming-of-age tale, and has acted in TV comedy shows such as "The Mighty Boosh" and "The IT Crowd."
